Our roofing contractors were completing a repair on a home.   In this video, after examining all possibilities, our roofers had made a determination that the source of a roof leak was coming from debris blockage in a tile-roof valley.  The roofers had already removed the tiles from around the valley flashing and removed the debris blockage.   They had repaired any defects in the metal flashing that runs the length of the valley.   The roofers also made any necessary repair to remove damaged felt paper and to replace any damaged felt paper with new felt paper.  Roofing contractors will explain that felt paper or underlayment is a heavy-duty paper used for waterproofing roofs to prevent the entrance of moisture.  Felt paper is used as underlayment for wood shake, composition and tile roofs and isn't particularly sun- or wind-resistant.  Any extensive exposure to wind and sun will weaken the felt paper and will eliminate its resistance to moisture.  In this video our roofers are replacing the tiles and putting them back into place since the repairs have all been completed.
